Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and creative Head Chef specializing in Asian cuisine to lead kitchen operations, develop an exceptional menu, and maintain the highest standards of food quality, consistency, and hygiene. The ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, deep knowledge of Asian flavors and techniques, and the ability to manage a fast-paced, quality-driven kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and execute an authentic and innovative Asian menu (e.g. East, Southeast, or Pan-Asian depending on concept)
• Oversee all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating
• Ensure consistency in taste, presentation, and portion control
• Manage kitchen staff: hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management
• Maintain strict compliance with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards
• Control food costs, minimize waste, and manage inventory and supplier ordering
• Collaborate with management on menu pricing, seasonal specials, and concept development
• Monitor equipment maintenance and kitchen cleanliness at all times
Requirements & Qualifications
• Proven experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef in Asian cuisine
• Strong knowledge of Asian cooking techniques, ingredients, and flavors
• Ability to lead, train, and motivate a kitchen team
• Experience with cost control, inventory management, and supplier coordination
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Strong understanding of food safety regulations and hygiene standards
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Preferred Qualifications
• Culinary degree or professional chef certification
• Experience in high-volume or fine-dining Asian restaurants
• Knowledge of modern Asian fusion or contemporary plating techniques
