Role Description
This is a full-time role for a Cost Accountant at Kazema Portable Toilets. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for managing and analyzing financial data, creating financial statements, preparing journal entries, and conducting cost accounting. The role involves applying analytical skills to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve financial performance. This is an on-site role based in Umm Al Quwain.
Costing & Analysis
1. Prepare and maintain detailed cost sheets for all manufactured products.
2. Analyze and monitor material, labor, and overhead costs against standards.
3. Perform variance analysis (material usage, price, labor efficiency, and overhead absorption).
4. Review and validate bill of materials (BOMs), routing data, and cost allocation methods.
5. Ensure all costs are correctly captured and reflected in the ERP system.
6. Support management with product costing, margin analysis, and pricing decisions.
Inventory & Cost Control
1. Track and reconcile Raw Material (RM), Work-In-Progress (WIP), and Finished Goods (FG) inventory values.
2. Monitor stock movements, consumption patterns, and production losses.
3. Conduct monthly stock reconciliations with stores and production departments.
4. Assist in periodic physical stock counts and report discrepancies.
Budgeting & Reporting
1. Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
2. Provide monthly cost reports highlighting trends, cost variances, and improvement areas.
3. Support management in identifying and implementing cost-reduction initiatives.
4. Prepare cost center reports and monitor performance against budgets.
Audit & Compliance
1. Support internal and external audits with cost-related documentation and schedules.
2. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and internal control procedures.
3. Maintain proper documentation and records for audit trails.
Qualifications & Skills
1. Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce.
2. ICWAI / CMA qualification (completed or pursuing) preferred.
3. 4–6 years of experience in cost accounting within a manufacturing environment.
4. Proficiency in ERP systems (Tally, SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Advanced Excel.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Excellent communication and cross-functional coordination abilities.
7. Accuracy, attention to detail, and a results-driven mindset.
8. Ability to work independently under minimal supervision.
